  1. Gosh, that sure sounds like an upsetting exchange! Now that my Mommeh is at work all day, we feel out of the loop of what's going on every day online.

But we are wide awake now, thanks Mr. Rooster!

  2. We don't understand why people have to be so mean. Mommy says she tries to be careful who she OK's as a friend on FB after she had a bad experience with someone on there. Sometimes FB is no Fun. ~AFSS

  4. One never knows why someone reacts in a certain way. If the responses bother you, just delete them as a friend and move on.

  6. One of the reasons Mom just can't do FB - too many issues with "friends". That person really sounds nasty. We are sorry you had to take that from her.

Now as for the wakeup call, we now have our own wooing alarm clock who doesn't want to stay in her crate past 4:00 am:)

  7. Wow! What can I say about this event except that this just confirms that there are a lot of crazies out there. Kind of scary. Don't know why they got so blown out on this, you were kind enough to ask in private then wham, the FB one went off on you. Good thing you can end the FB and moniter your comments. Too bad things like this have to happen. The mom here was thinking of doing a FB for me but hasn't yet and thinking that after reading this that my blog is enough.

  8. It's terrible people have to be rude and mean; she sounds like a nut to attack you so much for a simple question...and even after you apologize for upsetting her=CRAZY and yes, ANGRY!!...She is hateful to attack your babies=they are all beautiful and very loved; you can't do better than that...What does purebred have to do with anything, anyway??...Except to show she is also a snob!...Life is too short to have to deal with these sorts of people...Jan, I hope you have a great weekend in your loving home with all your gorgeous babies...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki

  10. We are REALLY sorry about the bully. The things that person said were cruel and hurtful - and not true.
Unfortunately, we've had people say/do hurtful things to us, too - via our blog and through our mom's FB account - so we understand what you're going through. We almost stopped blogging, almost cancelled out of FB. But you know what? That's giving in and would give the bully joy. We enjoy what we do, we try to stay positive, and we will NOT be bullied.
Please know that we stand with you!

  11. Jan dont let some upset you, there are a lot of people out on the net who dont understand simple questions from someone who are just asking a question. To attack is uncalled for. good lands if I had "purebreads " I could have never felt the love a " shelter"
pet has to offer. all mine are rescues, I am sorry the both of you lost a pet, caring for each others in those times is what matters..not saying hurtful things

  19. Well Jan, dad says he noticed the FB comment on your FB page but didn't give it any attention. He says now that even if such a morbid practice were a Victorian custom it certainly isn't so today. And even if someone felt it necessary to do such a thing it would best be kept to themselves and such a photo not posted for anyone to see. That's why there are blocks and delete keys in most systems. Don't let it get under your skin and just let it go or it will stress you out; like you need anymore stress. How's the toe doing?

As for the rooster alarm Somebody please hit the SNOOZE button ASAP.

  20. What a nasty person. We love you all and you can do without people like that. Mum opened a FB account for us but never really used it. She got so many people who she didn't know wanting to be friends, so she suspended our account. She would have closed it properly but couldn't find how to do it.

  21. Jan, we love your blog, we love Merci and this person is a nutjob. There is no other reason for someone to be such a jerk.

This kind of stuff is why we don't use Facebook and Twitter and why we moderate all our comments and use word verify. A lot of the time it isn't worth it to the jerks to go through all that to say something mean, especially when they know it will never bee seen by anyone.

  22. Oh, Jan, we're sorry you had to endure that. Know that we appreciate you and your friendship -- and we love your blog! Oh, and by the way, Merci is beautiful!

  23. Oh-oh!
Sure Jan had a bad exchange with that person!
FB is something we don't understand very well sooo... we prefer not to use it!
It was funny to hear Mr. Rooster!

  25. Oh Jan - first of all, you have a wonderful blog and I always look forward to my visits here (even though I don't get over as often as I like!)

And secondly, I can't understand all the really nasty, sad people out there who seem to have found the Internet as a whole new form of "dutch courage" to be horrible to other people. I have got the most horrendous nasty comments left on YouTube on my videos from random strangers, making seriously racist comments, calling me a b*tch, a drunk, being cruel to Honey, being desperate to have an older husband or married to a white man, saying I'm only interested in eating Honey...blah, blah, blah...it's uinbelievable! I'm seriously bewildered - why is it such a crime to have a good bone & have fun with your dog and expect it to do more than just be a couch potato? (and marry an older man of a different race?) I know I shouldn't let it bother me but it does ruin my day sometimes...anyway, I just wanted to say that I empathise and that there is nothing we can do about these sad people. Just know that there are lots of us who love you and value you.

  26. Just goes to show that some folks still view having a purebred animal as a means to display some sort of status (despite not knowing where these animals originated from (i.e. puppy mills, etc.) or whether they can truly afford to have them.

It's very sad to think of the many wonderful shelter pets euthanized each year...My husband and I can attest to the countless animals that have touched our lives through our volunteering at a no-kill shelter. And shelter animals are the only animals my family adopted, since I was a child. We never had problems w/any of them AND they all were beautiful animals...Each and every one of them...Just like your beautiful Merci and the rest of your gang. Keep up the wonderful work...The love you have for these furry animals is immense. We thank you!

  27. Wow, that encounter must have been certainly interesting! We have a FB account but hardly use it. After hearing this story, maybe we won't use it at all! Some "friend" that person was!
